About Turning the Tide for Birth and Breastfeeding.

“A real conference with scones and jam and cream at morning tea, and time to chat with colleagues over lunch – we’ve all been dreaming of this!” We have had a difficult couple of years, but the Warrnambool Breastfeeding Centre welcomes you back to 'Turning the tide for birth and breastfeeding'.

But we are also practical! We are optimistic about our ability to hold a live conference, but if COVID restrictions prevent it going ahead as a live conference then the entire conference will be presented online and the difference in cost between the live and online conference will be refunded. Likewise, workshops will be cancelled and be immediately refunded.

This program may be subject to changes – please check the website for updates.

All funds raised go to support the work of the Warrnambool Breastfeeding Centre

2022 Workshops: Turning the Tide for Birth and Breastfeeding

24 & 27 February 2022

The Warrnambool Breastfeeding Centre is proud to announce two optional workshops

Combine one or both of these workshops with our two day conference for a really rewarding experience – See our conference listing for conference details.

WORKSHOP 1: This intensive is for those who are looking to enhance and support the decision making process with their clients in birth and beyond. Participants will develop a team of support, role play the language of birth cartography and develop confidence in the practice of birth cartography. There will be opportunities for reflective discussion.

WORKSHOP 2: ‘Trauma-informed practice’ has become a catchphrase if not clichéd concept in recent times. This workshop is an opportunity to delve deeper into understanding the neurophysiological basis of trauma, explore how your personal history and knowledge base have influenced your practice, and appreciate how you as a perinatal professional have significant power to minimize the potential for trauma among those in your care. The workshop

will entail a combination of cognitive learning, reflective processes and embodiment practices.

Participants will ideally have attended during the conference presentation of A Neurophysiological Approach to Trauma Minimization In The Perinatal Continuum as a springboard to this workshop.

We are optimistic about our ability to hold a live conference, but if COVID restrictions prevent it going ahead as a live conference then the entire conference will be presented online and the difference in cost between the live and online conference will be refunded. Likewise, workshops will be cancelled and be immediately refunded.
