Jan Tedder

Jan Tedder is from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA) where she works as a nurse practitioner and lactation consultant and teaches family physician residents.  A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and at Charlotte, Ms. Tedder has worked with young families in primary care for decades. She has developed lactation and well child programs, created parent education outreach projects, and consulted with both parents and professionals on critical lactation and child development issues. Ms. Tedder created HUG Your Baby, winner of the National Health Information Award and the World Wide Web Health Award. HUG Your Baby’s website, blog and parent education resources are now used in over 100 countries around the world.  She has published HUG research and program descriptions in peer-reviewed journals, lectured internationally on issues related to infants and families, and created well-received online training for midwives, nurses, childbirth educators, lactation specialists, and doulas. Ms. Tedder was inducted into the International Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing and was chosen as the North Carolina (USA) Maternal-Child Health Nurse of the Year. 

 

Meg Nagle

In between breastfeeding her youngest boy, chasing after her oldest two boys, blogging and occasionally sleeping; Meg works with women to help them reach their breastfeeding goals. Meg has a degree in Psychology and was a La Leche League Leader (breastfeeding counsellor) for seven years before becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and her prior work was in counselling and sexual health. She writes frequently on her website about all things breastfeeding, is a guest blogger and has published articles in “Nurture Parenting Magazine” and “Natural Mother Magazine”. Needless to say she passionate about helping women reach their breastfeeding goals and loves helping to get the word out about how women can do this! She places a huge emphasis on sharing evidenced based research without the sugary coating.

Lyndsey Hookway

Lyndsey Hookway

Lyndsey is an experienced paediatric nurse, children’s public health nurse, IBCLC, researcher, responsive sleep/parenting advocate, and the author of 6 books. She has worked with children and families for more than 20 years within in-patient paediatrics, paediatric ambulatory care, NICU, and the community. Lyndsey is a PhD researcher at Swansea University, exploring the needs and challenges of medically complex breastfed infants and children, due to complete in Spring 2023. In 2019 she founded the Breastfeeding the Brave project to raise awareness of the unique lactation needs of sick children in the paediatric setting. Lyndsey is the co-founder and clinical director of the Holistic Sleep Coaching program and Thought Rebellion. She is a respected international speaker and also provides regular training, advocacy and consultancy to both NHS and private organisations.

Caleb studied science at the University of Melbourne before doing his honours year at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute on platelet biogenesis with Dr Samir Taoudi. He recently completed his PhD in the breast cancer laboratory at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute with Professor Jane Visvader, Dr Anne Rios and Professor Geoff Lindeman.

Mary Wlodek

Mary Wlodek is a tenured Professor in the Department of Physiology, School of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, The University of Melbourne. She graduated with a BSc(Hons) and MSc from the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada and  subsequently was awarded her PhD in Physiology from Monash University in Australia.

Marcia Burton McCoy

Marcia Burton McCoy

MPH, IBCLC.

Marcia has been an IBCLC since 2000. She was coordinator of the Hennepin County Peer Breastfeeding Support Program from 2005 to 2015. Marcia obtained an MPH in Maternal/Child Health from the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health in 2015 and now works as an epidemiologist with the MDH WIC Program.

Pamela Heggie

Dr. Heggie is both a pediatrician and lactation consultant and she practices general pediatrics and breastfeeding medicine at Central Pediatrics in Roseville, Minnesota, USA. Dr. Heggie is also the Medical Director (volunteer) of the Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota.

Julie is a Clinical Midwife Consultant at the Women’s Alcohol and Drug Service (WADS) based at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. Julie is a registered nurse and completed her midwifery training at the Royal Women’s Hospital.

Mary has worked as a midwife with pregnant women with alcohol and drug issues, both at The Women’s Alcohol & Drug Service at The Women’s Hospital and at Sunshine Hospital for over 20 years. She is also a registered nurse and psychiatric nurse.

Robyn has a Bachelor Degree in Medical Science and an Associate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology. She has held a Postgraduate Certification in Lactation Consultancy from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners since 1990. Robyn Noble runs Bayside Breastfeeding Clinic.

Linda graduated in Medicine with first class Honours from the University of New South Wales in 2003. She undertook her dermatology training in Sydney and completed her fellowship at St John’s Institute for Diseases of the Skin in London. Linda is a Staff Specialist Paediatric Dermatologist at Sydney Children’s Hospital and Director of Dermatology Services at Melanoma Institute Australia.

Dr Karleen Gribble is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Western Sydney University. She has been involved in policy development and training in the area of infants in emergencies since 2006 and is a world-leading researcher in this area.

Justine Van Der Watt

Justine Van Der Watt

Justine is a registered nurse, endorsed midwife, and IBCLC. She has worked in neonatal ICU’s in Perth, Western Australia, and the United Kingdom since 2007. When she gave birth to her daughter 2014, she had every intention of breastfeeding well into full time, but it seemed that the universe had a different path for her and she exclusively expressed until her daughter was 10mths. This spurred her on to start her business – Cherished Parenting Services - in March 2016. In late 2017 she started as a lactation consultant in private practice and in May 2019 added private antenatal and postnatal midwifery services.
